The first two seasons of Bridgerton follow a very similar format, despite being very different stories from one another. The 3rd season, however, promises a different approach from its predecessors because of the protagonist couple at the time. The episodes have release dates scheduled for May 16th and June 13th.

Fans of Julia Quinn’s novels may be apprehensive, as the big discovery in the book “The Secrets of Colin Bridgerton” was anticipated, being shown at the end of the 1st season. With Lady Whistledown’s identity revealed, including by other characters, the way in which this secret is handled is already a significant change to be expected.

Is it worth creating expectations for season 3 of Bridgerton?

Something interesting is that the new stage has the potential to bring a “refreshment” to the narrative structure. As we’ve been seeing Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope’s (Nicola Coughlan) platonic friendship develop for a while now, the series has a greater possibility of exploring other aspects of the relationship.

This has a chance of happening because it won’t be necessary to pay as much attention to the context in which it started, as was the case with Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), who had their love interests introduced “from scratch” in the series. Knowing the couple’s past and their personalities makes the turning point in their relationship even more exciting for the public.

A good sign came from Nicola Coughlan, who said that the production team itself was thrilled behind the scenes during filming, precisely because they had witnessed the evolution of “Polin” first hand: “They have been there from the beginning with Pen and Colin , and seeing the big, burly cameramen getting emotional about things was great,” he told Teen Vogue.

Will a lack of weight in the cast affect the story of Bridgerton season 3?

Since the start of recording for the series, which took place last year, the feared information was confirmed that Phoebe Dynevor would not return to the series. The news disappointed many people, considering that Daphne’s story was responsible for the success of the 1st season.

During the 2nd season we already had the absence of Duke Simon due to the departure of Regé-Jean Page, Daphne was present throughout the episodes to give a glimpse of the couple’s “happily ever after”. Even though her participation has been reduced, it will be strange not to see her among the Bridgerton brothers.

Dynevor confirmed to Variety that she was ending her run on the Netflix romance: “Well, I did my two seasons. I did what I wanted with that character and she had a great arc. If they invite me back in the future, who knows?”

Daphne will be especially missed because, in the books, the duchess plays an important role as an advisor to Colin, who is confused by his feelings about Penelope.
