Oxen die electrocuted after high voltage cable falls into corral

More than 80 cattle that were inside an auction corral died after being electrocuted by a high voltage cable. The case happened on Tuesday (30) in Bom Jesus do Tocantins, central region of the state, and the loss is more than R$200,000.

According to those responsible for the animals, the power cable broke and fell near the corral with Nelore, Senepol and Tabapuã cattle. The value of the loss also involves electronic equipment.

g1 and TV Anhanguera asked Energisa, the concessionaire that provides the service in the state, for a position on the accident and are awaiting a response.

Until Tuesday night, the owners of the auction company did not have a firm number of dead animals, as some still had sequelae and could also die.

In addition to the loss, the company also regretted the emotional shock of the people who witnessed the death of the animals, which happened shortly after the end of the auction.

A team from the Agricultural Defense Agency (Adapec) was called to analyze the situation and two veterinarians confirmed the death of the animals.

According to Adapec, the auction is duly registered and has a technical manager. The bodies of the animals were taken to the Bom Jesus landfill and buried during the afternoon.
