The Government of Amazonas decreed an optional point on March 28th (Thursday), due to the Friday of the Passion of Christ. Essential public services will be maintained during the long holiday, according to the decree published in the Official Gazette on March 21st.

The State Department of Health (SES-AM) informs that all urgent and emergency units, both in the capital and in the interior, will operate normally.

The state network has 11 Emergency Care Services (SPAs and UPAs) for medical care in emergency cases of low and medium complexity, in Manaus. For serious cases, the six emergency rooms, three for adults and three for children, will be operating normally. Care for pregnant women will also continue without changes in the state’s seven maternity hospitals.

The Amazonas Military Police (PMAM) will maintain regular overt policing throughout the capital. In cases of emergency, the population should call 190 and 181.

The Fire Department will also be available to the population to provide assistance. Activations must be made by number 193.
