A charred body was found inside a property in São Vicente on the first day of searches. The agents even considered that the body was that of the missing PM, but the hypothesis was soon discarded.
Searches involve PM, Civil Police and Fire Department, says SSP. The Public Security Secretariat informed the UOL having identified a shack in Guarujá where the PM was allegedly taken hostage by the suspects before his disappearance. “Efforts continue to clarify the facts and locate the police officer,” the ministry said in a statement on Friday (26).
What is known about PM disappearance
The Civil Police treat the case as a homicide, as two of the five suspects arrested say that the PM was murdered. In a conversation via WhatsApp, one of the prisoners indicates a connection with the PCC and states that the PM was killed. The other prisoner, Edivaldo Aragão, says that the soldier was shot and thrown into a river in São Vicente after having his legs tied. They were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the crimes of homicide, kidnapping, robbery and drug trafficking.
Aragão said that Angerami “was very crazy” and was approached by people linked to drug trafficking “because there was a woman screaming in the car.” In testimony, Angerami’s brother had said that the PM had gone to an establishment. From there, he allegedly sent a message to a woman who was also at the scene.
