A survey released by the Secretariat of Justice and Public Security (Sejusp) this week reveals the decrease in cases of theft in the first four months of 2024, compared to 2023, in the same period.

According to data from Sejusp’s Integrated Department of Statistics and Criminal Analysis, Acre recorded a 36.56% drop in the number of robberies. The municipalities of Jordão, Santa Rosa do Purus and Marechal Thaumaturgo had no records of robberies, both in 2023 and 2024.

The head of the Integrated Department of Statistics and Criminal Analysis at Sejusp, Niver Chaves, also explains that the study shows a reduction in Cruzeiro do Sul, of 23%, and Rio Branco, with a 40% reduction in the number of robberies.

“Intelligence work was fundamental for this significant reduction in the state of Acre. The survey shows that in 12 municipalities we had a reduction in this index”, he explained.
