With a capacity audience, Arapiraca promotes a series of lectures on Autism Spectrum Disorder

In reference to World Autism Awareness Day, celebrated on April 2nd, Arapiraca City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Education, promoted this Tuesday (23rd), at the Municipal Planetarium and Casa da Ciência, a cycle of lectures with an approach focused on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) “Knowing to welcome with equity”.

The event featured the participation of the psychologist specializing in behavioral analysis, Samara Calista, the psychologist, psychopedagogue and neuropsychologist, Patrícia Dantas, and the nutritionist Ítala Pereira.

With the cinema theater at the Municipal Planetarium and Casa da Ciência completely packed, the event brought together Health and Education professionals, Non-Governmental Organizations, among others.

For the Municipal Secretary of Education, Eliete Rocha, inclusive education must be treated as a priority, also linking continued training and the necessary guidance for all sectors of Arapiraca’s educational institutions.

“We are responsible for education in Arapiraca. In all areas. And today we are dealing with special education. We have been carrying out training, providing guidance on this subject within the school with awareness and inclusion. So, the more events like this, the more awareness people have and this never hurts so that we can make our environments more welcoming for all of them, for us and especially for those who need this reception who are autistic. For the professional who works with them, for the director, for the person who works at the reception, or for the person who prepares lunch, for the entire environment to be welcoming to people with autism. This is our responsibility, we need to strengthen this”, pointed out the secretary.

The series of lectures was promoted by the Municipal Department of Education, through the Specialized Educational Service Center (CAEE).
