Presented in Thailand last month, the new Toyota Corolla Cross surprises and will arrive in Brazil soon. The restyled midsize SUV debuts at the end of April with a different look (especially at the front), more equipment and also more economical. The model is produced in Sorocaba, in the interior of São Paulo.

The SUV will continue with the 2.0 naturally aspirated engine, but will have the same calibration as the sedan, aiming to reduce fuel consumption and emissions levels. The numbers practically remain the same: 177 hp of power and 21.3 kgfm of torque (0.1 kgfm less), always with CVT transmission. The 1.8 hybrid model continues to deliver 122 hp of power and 16.6 kgfm of torque.

It is possible to increase the consumption of Corolla Cross 2025, as Toyota has already published energy efficiency data in the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program (PBEV). Now, the 2.0 aspirated model can score 8.2 km/l in the city and 9.3 km/l on the road with ethanol, and 11.6 km/l in the city and 13.3 km/l on the road with gasoline.

On the outside, the changes are not striking, just like the Thai model. The Corolla Cross will have a new front grille, bumper and LED graphics on the headlights. At the rear, also expect new graphics on the lights and perhaps some changes to the bumper.
