Fácil was criticized on social media for the way she approached the issue, in an arrogant tone, but also for spreading misinformation. Contrary to what was said by the influencer, Anne and her family did not occupy the entire space, but lived hidden for two years at the back of the building, until they were captured by the Gestapo, the German Nazi police, in 1944.

Jewish Museum of Chile spoke out. In a post on Instagram, the institution posted images of the house during the period in which Anne lived there and accused Naya of spreading fake news about Anne Frank in a “flippant” way.

Naya Fácil recanted. The influencer apologized but said that instead of criticizing her, it would have been “better” to educate her or explain why she posted misinformation. “I’m sorry about Anne Franke, but guys… instead of criticizing and judging me, it would be better to educate or explain myself.”

Anne Frank and her family lived in Amsterdam, during the period when the Netherlands was under Nazi rule, in 1944. They were captured and taken to Auschwitz. Anne was subsequently sent to Bergen-Belsen and died in February 1945.

Dead family members. In addition to Anne, her mother, Edith, and sister, Margot, also died at the hands of the Nazis. Her father, Otto, was the only survivor. He was the one who published the book known worldwide as The Diary of Anne Frank, which provides one of the main accounts of the horrors of Nazism and the Second World War.
