A driver who died in a serious accident in Massachusetts, United States, was dragged into the forest by a bear.
Daniel Ducharme, 31, lost control of his car Sunday morning while driving on Route 91 in Hatfield.
The man died and his body was totally or partially thrown out of the vehicle, a 2016 Honda Civic.
Authorities were alerted to the incident by another driver who witnessed what happened. However, when they arrived at the scene, they found no sign of Daniel’s body. Police noticed the presence of a bear nearby and concluded that the body may have been dragged by the animal.
“The evidence suggests that at some point the animal had contact with the body,” stated the Massachusetts Police Department, emphasizing that Daniel was already deceased at that time, having died instantly as a result of the accident.
According to The Independent, police are investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal accident.
