The car carrying Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, the most extremist member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet, overturned after running through a traffic light in the city of Ramla, in the central region of the country. The accident happened on Friday afternoon (26).
Ben Gvir, according to official sources, did not suffer serious injuries, although the images show great difficulty in removing the politician from inside the car turned upside down on a busy street, while his bodyguards appear tense protecting the perimeter. Unconfirmed information circulated hours after the collision pointing to serious injuries to the neck of the far-right radical who advocates a total war against the Palestinians to remove them from the entire territory of the Jewish State.
A camera installed in a vehicle that is apparently parked on the other side of the street shows the exact moment in which the black car carrying the minister passes directly, albeit at low speed, through an intersection, being violently hit by another car, causing it to overturn. Immediately, Ben Gvir’s escort, who was following closely behind, descends and begins trying to help the extremist.
Two other people were reportedly injured in the collision, but also not seriously. Ben Gvir, who is a member of Otzima Yehudit, the most ultra-reactionary party in Israel, was in Ramla to monitor a case of a knife attack, considered terrorist, which was allegedly perpetrated by an Arab citizen against a Jew.
As soon as the attacks took place on October 7 last year, carried out by the Palestinian group Hamas against several Jewish communities in the areas closest to the border with Gaza, which left 1,300 dead among civilians and soldiers, Ben Gvir said that “in a single gram of humanitarian aid” should come in to meet the minimum needs of the territory’s innocent population, but only “tons of missiles and bombs” from Israel’s fighter jets.
