It’s official: Google revealed today (7), through its official page, the Pixel 8a smartphone, its new entry into its long-lasting family of cell phones. The device had already been the subject of rumors for a long time, including expectations of greater detail during Google I/Oan event that the Mountain View company should promote on the 15th of this month.
The official store received a page dedicated to the new device, which comes with four color options and broad support for artificial intelligence (AI). The technology – being extensively developed by Google – permeates almost the entire device. Including, the Pixel 8a comes directly with Gemini installed, confirming that Google is even leaving the well-known Assistant aside.
The main focus of the Pixel 8a is offering applications powered by artificial intelligence (AI). The company itself says that the new Tensor G3 processor was designed with technology in mind, impacting not only more obvious tasks – such as using Google Gemini – as well as acting behind the scenes, processing photos taken by the camera or improving the passive security of the smartphone.

Like its predecessors, the Pixel 8a does not have official representation in Brazil, so its availability here does not officially exist, much less a localized price. In the USA, however, the device is now available for pre-sale, starting at US$499 (R$2,529.93).
