Since the beginning of this year, Samsung has made it clear that artificial intelligence is one of the company’s top priorities. The technology has already reached the brand’s high-end smartphones and tablets, notebooks. And now it is also reaching premium lines of smart TVs.

Event to present AI TV

The South Korean giant updated its television portfolio at an event held on Tuesday night (7). And, although it presented new models in all segments, it attracted attention even with devices in the high-end category: Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED, OLED, the new “Samsung AI TV”.

The three models arrive equipped with the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor, which in addition to being the most modern version of the component, features twice the performance power and eight times more neural networks than the previous one. This makes all the difference when executing resources powered by artificial intelligence.

Smart TVs equipped with the new chip use artificial intelligence to upscale low-resolution images to 8K. In practice, the technology is capable of taking low-quality content and offering a better experience, delivering greater clarity and level of detail.

The technology is not new to the brand’s televisions, but the new hardware makes the process even more efficient. According to a Samsung spokesperson, in tests, the Neo QLED 8K smart TV was able to increase the quality of content originally in Full HD to a resolution very close to 8K.

What AI Motion Enhancer Pro is like

Another interesting detail is the ability to improve the sharpness of moving images with AI Motion Enhancer Pro. It uses artificial intelligence to “reconstruct” the trajectory of elements on the screen and eliminate blurs or trails common in moving content.

The new processor also offers special treatment to the television’s sound, which already has Dolby Atmos technology. The television optimizes dialogues by analyzing and identifying ambient sound noises, in addition to offering a more immersive spatial sound experience, which can be enhanced with external sound devices such as Samsung’s own soundbars.

Smart TVs equipped with the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor also have the AI Energy Mode, which analyzes ambient lighting and automatically adjusts screen brightness to reduce energy consumption. Users can also monitor the television’s energy consumption through a native feature.

It is important to highlight that the brand’s televisions can still be used as smart home hubs. There, it is possible to monitor and analyze the energy consumption rates of all connected devices in the home.
