Universal Studios reveals new details about Super Nintendo World

A Universal released details about Super Nintendo World, a new attraction coming to Universal Epic Universe in 2025. Developed in partnership between the visionaries at Universal Creative and the Japanese developer, this vibrant area combines iconic Nintendo characters with Universal’s renowned ability to create experiences in theme parks, bringing a multi-sensory environment where visitors can experience the fun and adventure of Nintendo games in a whole new way.

Start by “entering the pipe”

For lovers of the Mario saga, the park will have a personalized entrance that is well known in the world of video games: Mario’s green pipe!

Upon arriving in this world, visitors will find a vibrant setting, full of familiar sights and sounds easily recognized in Nintendo games – such as the imposing Mt. Beanpole, the majestic Peach’s Castle, the dancing Piranha Plant, the Goombas walking back and forth. another, spinning coins, question mark blocks and more.

Inside Super Nintendo World, visitors will be able to explore Super Mario Land – where they will experience adventures alongside Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and other characters; and Donkey Kong Country – where they will meet Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong and other members of the Kong family.

The colorful landscapes of the Mushroom Kingdom come to life in Super Mario Land, where guests can experience:

Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge: Guests are invited to join Team Mario and battle Team Bowser for the Gold Cup in this innovative attraction that combines augmented reality, projection mapping technology and elaborate environments to recreate the fun of the Mario Kart video game series in a complete experience. Visitors who take on the challenge will enter through Bowser’s Castle – where they will walk through the halls and get a glimpse of Bowser’s cunning plans – before boarding their kart and heading to the starting line. Guests then “drive” through a variety of Mario Kart courses – collecting coins, throwing shells at Team Bowser, dodging obstacles, and more – as they team up with their favorite characters and compete to help Team Mario win the race.
Yoshi’s Adventure: The enchanting Yoshi’s Adventure attraction will make its U.S. debut when SUPER NINTENDO WORLD opens at Universal Epic Universe. In this family-friendly adventure, guests of all ages will be able to admire stunning views of Super Mario Land as they join the Yoshis and travel through the landscapes of the Mushroom Kingdom in search of glowing eggs – encountering many familiar characters along the way.

Donkey Kong Country

On the edge of Super Mario Land, guests will discover an entrance that will take them to Donkey Kong Country, where they will explore the video game series’ lush tropical landscape, filled with towering trees, waterfalls, famous landmarks like the Golden Temple and more. Here, visitors can enjoy:

Mine-Cart Madness: Guests will hop into a mine cart and travel through the jungle to help Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong protect the coveted golden banana on this all-new roller coaster. Utilizing an innovative system and technology and a unique roller coaster design, Mine-Cart Madness will take riders on a thrilling adventure where they will experience the extreme stunts that Donkey Kong and mine carts perform in video games – including being thrown off from a barrel, jump over potholes while speeding along an unstable track, and more.

A tropical menu and products in the middle of the jungle – all inspired by the Donkey Kong Country video game franchise and its characters. More details will be shared in the coming months.

Power-up bands

Visitors can intensify their fun at Super Nintendo World by purchasing a Power-Up Band, a type of bracelet that allows them to improve their game in Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country. With the Power-Up Band, visitors will be able to collect digital coins from blocks and fun interactive activities; collect digital stamps at attractions; earn digital keys to unlock an exclusive showdown against Bowser Jr.; and discover other hidden surprises.

Guests can also find leaderboard screens in Super Nintendo World to see where they stand among other guests.

For lovers of Mario, Luigi and the gang, the expectation to visit Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood is high. It’s worth noting that the area is really interactive – something not seen before – and the idea is that you really feel like you’re part of a video game.
