Fallout 4’s next-gen update doesn’t seem to be pleasing experts. Technically, the game has been heavily criticized, due to the large presence of bugs and several optimization problems.

The Digital Foundry team got together to compile the main flaws involving the RPG upgrade, offered by Bethesda for free at the end of April. According to analysts, the version is “dismal” and “disappointing”, even at the highest quality.
The problems in Fallout 4 can already be noticed in the PC version. Ultrawide support is hampered by a lack of polish, with interface elements extended rather than natively adapted. Additionally, there are several inconsistencies in the information on screen.
This edition would also break compatibility with several mods, would not contain additional features and does not resolve problems that have existed since the game’s original launch in 2015.
Fallout 4 has virtues on consoles, but very limited
On PS5, Fallout 4 is available with good switching between graphic modes, but without support for ray tracing and HDR. On the Xbox Series, the game is locked at 60 FPS with medium resolution settings, especially compared to the PC options.
The Sony console can render objects, foliage and details of distant buildings better than the Microsoft machine. However, overall, the graphical quality on both platforms would be satisfactory.
Fortunately, these inconsistencies wouldn’t extend to frame rates. Even though the Xbox is “stuck” in performance, there is clear stability in maintaining 60 FPS. The PS5 guarantees good performance in native or dynamic 4K.
Despite this, Fallout 4 is full of bugs and exploits that can “break” the game’s dynamics. Furthermore, the comparable console and PC configurations would not match and the PC version would be superior.
