Minas agrees to return as opposite number for the Brazilian team < In Attack

Minas agreed to the return of opposite Aboubacar Dramé, from the Brazilian team. The player is among those registered to represent Brazil in the Nations League, in May. He arrives for his second spell at the club.

Abouba was at Tours, in France, where he stayed for three seasons. At 30 years old, the experienced opposite is a strong reinforcement for Minas this season.

He spoke about the feeling of returning to the capital of Minas Gerais and cited a factor that could add to his new spell at the club.

“I’m very happy to return to a team for which I have enormous gratitude like Itambé Minas. I already know the Club’s structure and the coaching staff, so I believe my adaptation will be smooth. Playing in other countries I managed to improve on several fundamentals and, in recent years, I have had experiences that have helped me mature even more. I am motivated and ready for this challenge”

Abouba’s career

Son of Malian parents, the opposite was born in Brasília, where he began his professional career in 2013. After Brasília Vôlei, the player played for Minas in the 2016/17 season.

In Brazil, Aboubacar also played for Canoas and was Superliga champion with Taubaté, before arriving at Callipo Sport, in Italy. At Tours, in France, where he was champion of the French league, the Cup and the French Super Cup, in addition to having accumulated individual awards such as MVP of the group stage of the 2022/23 Champions League.

For the Brazilian team, Abouba was champion of the 2021 South American Championship and won the bronze medal at the Pan-American Games in Lima in 2019.
