One of the most promising fighters in the MMA national, Victor Petrino was not happy UFC Rio. At the event held last Saturday (4), the Minas Gerais native ended up surprised by Anthony Smith and quickly finished in the biggest fight of his career. But, despite the hard setback, which meant the loss of his unbeaten record in MMA, the athlete did not let himself be shaken.

On his social networks, Petrino admitted that it was not easy to deal with the defeat, especially the first one, but he reassured the fans, guaranteeing that he was more motivated than ever to turn things around. According to the Brazilian, the adverse result will serve as a lesson and motivation to become a better fighter. It is worth noting that, before facing Smith, the Minas Gerais native was classified by bookmakers as a favorite in the fight, but he wasted the chance to join the top-10 light heavyweight division (93 kg) and change his level in MMA.

“Hey guys! The result did not come, but without a sad story. I entered that arena happy to be doing something I love and left upset for not showing all my work. But this is the game, 26 years, 11 victories and the first defeat (within the biggest MMA event on the planet), in other words, a lot to learn. Thank you everyone for the messages and love. Soon we will be back stronger than ever“, wrote Petrino on his official ‘Instagram’ account.
