Held last Saturday (27), in Las Vegas (USA), the UFC Vegas 91 It featured good fights and was also marked by a historic moment due to an unforeseen event that occurred during the event, which ended up bringing MMA fans, for the first time, a woman as fight announcer within the North American organization.

The story starred 36-year-old journalist Charly Arnolt. The professional, who usually works as an announcer at the renowned WWE Pro-Wrestling event, was present at the UFC Apex, where UFC Vegas 91 took place, initially to mediate interviews with the fighters on the card for the American broadcast of Ultimate. Given this, it was not the company’s intention to place her as an announcer.

However, plans had to be changed at the last minute. Joe Martinez, who replaces the titular and legendary Bruce Buffer in some of the franchise’s events, had been announcing all the fights on the preliminary card and the start of the main card, until he started to get hoarse and have voice problems.

It was after this that Ultimate acted hastily and summoned Charly Arnolt to announce the result of the fight between Brazilians Karine “Killer” Silva and Ariane da Silva, which was the third to last on the card, in addition to presenting the co-main event, involving Bogdan Guskov and Ryan Spann. In the main fight of UFC Vegas 91, Joe Martinez returned to his role, even though he still had some voice problems.
