Coach Mariano Soso did not hide his satisfaction with the football presented by Sport, on Friday night, in the 2-0 victory over Vila Nova, at Arena de Pernambuco. The triumph in the second round of Series B was constructed, in the coach’s view, with “authority”.

– I want to congratulate the players for the game they played today. I think it was a very well constructed victory, achieved with authority. Intense game. I think they interpreted the game plan very well, the execution was very good – praised the coach.

– It was a first half with dominance and control. In the second half, I interpret that the team identified the need for play and gave effective responses – added Soso’s analysis.

With the second consecutive victory in Series B, Sport reached six points, reaching, at least provisionally, the leadership of the competition.

– I always share with you that for the coach it is simpler to build a gift with this group of players. I have qualified athletes, very permeable, porous and I think that this football is a consequence of the daily task – highlighted Mariano Soso.

Sport returns to play next Tuesday, when they visit Atlético-MG, in the third phase of the Copa do Brasil.

The expectation is to know whether, by then, Leão will have the return of athletes like Barletta and Alan Ruiz, absent against Vila Nova, due to muscle problems. At the press conference, Soso stated that there is no deadline for both to be available again.

– The players are being evaluated daily and we have good answers. But I can’t be precise, I think it would be an act of irresponsibility, we don’t have deadlines – he replied.
