The controversy involving ticket prices for the second leg of the Copa do Brasil between Flamengo and Amazonas, scheduled for May 22 at the Arena da Amazônia, has caused great dissatisfaction among fans. The values, which range from R$150 to R$1,500, were considered abusive by many, leading to the intervention of consumer protection bodies.
Procon do Amazonas and the Consumer Protection Commission of the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (CDC-Aleam) notified the Amazonas club, demanding explanations about the calculation basis for the stipulated prices. This action reflects the concern of regulatory bodies to ensure that there are no abuses in commercial practices, especially at large public events.
Amazonas FC defends itself by claiming that the prices are similar to those charged by Flamengo in previous games held in the same arena, such as the one that occurred on January 17, when Flamengo faced Audax and won 4-0, with tickets also reaching high prices .
In addition to prices, Procon is also investigating other possible infractions related to the organization of the event, including the suitability of spaces for people with disabilities and the policy on food and beverages entering the arena, critical points for compliance with the Defense Code of Consumer.
Mário César Filho, president of CDC-Aleam, spoke out strongly against the exploitation of fans through exorbitant prices, emphasizing the importance of democratic access to sport and compliance with laws that protect consumers.
