A team from State Secretariat for Protection and Civil Defense of Santa Catarina (SDC) left on Monday (6), on a mission to support the Disaster Response Operation Command Post in Rio Grande do Suldue to the tragedy caused by the rains.
The main objective is to provide assistance in two fundamental areas: planning and executing operations at the Command Post and raising resources for the municipalities of Rio Grande do Sul, which were extremely affected.
The team sent is being commanded by military fire brigade colonel, Aldrin Silva de SouzaCivil Defense operations manager; Luciano PeriRegional Coordinator of Protection and Civil Defense of Xanxerê; Maykel CampestriniRegional Coordinator of Protection and Civil Defense of Blumenau; It is Jairo Krugerfundraising manager.
Colonel Aldrin highlighted the importance of bringing the experience of Santa Catarina to help Rio Grande do Sul. “We are committed to sharing our practical knowledge and supporting our colleagues in the neighboring state in the best possible way”, he emphasized.
The group went to RS with two 4 x 4 vehicles to access flooded areas, so they could reach the Command Post and begin work as soon as possible. Initially, they plan to remain in the state of Rio Grande do Sul for seven days, contributing to the disaster response operation.
Civil Defense coordinates delivery of donations to RS
The State Secretariat for Protection and Civil Defense of Santa Catarina (SDC) yesterday took over the coordination of donations deliveries to Rio Grande do Sul, in response to the damage caused by intense rains. SDC is providing guidance to ensure materials are delivered safely and efficiently.
Entities interested in contributing, whether public, private, associations or groups of people, must arrange the entire process for transporting the items to ensure the success of donations. “It is important to emphasize that people who are interested in making a donation need to provide complete logistics, whatever the means of transport”, explained Major Fernando Ireno Vieira, Humanitarian Assistance manager.
