Coritiba will vote on changes to the association’s statutes: see details

O consulting board of Coritiba will meet on Tuesday night (23) to formalize proposed changes to the association statute, which will be reformulated after the arrival of the SAF. These changes will be voted on by the end of the month by the deliberative Council of the club.

The Deliberative meeting should take place on Monday (29). In contact with the OneTwo Sports, the president of the Advisory, Rui Bocchinostated that the changes listed by the counselors arise not only to give the association more autonomy, but also more security.

In the 51-page document containing proposed changes, there are suggestions that remove mentions of the SAF thigh-white from articles in the club’s new statute proposed after the arrival of Treecorp, giving more freedom to the association.

The idea would be to separate football management from other issues involving the club.

“The proposal to reform the Bylaws presented for discussion makes a
interconnection between the Association and SAF CORITIBA, when within it it links SAF
in several articles. This cannot happen. The CORITIBA FOOT BALL CLUB Association must remain healthy, that is, independent of SAF CORITIBA, a company of which it only owns 10%”, says the document.

“The Association’s Statute only has to authorize the Association’s participation in
Sociedade Anônima de Futebol, but not having direct statutory links. The link must only be contractual and as a shareholder […]. On the other hand, as the Association delegates to a Football Limited Society, only the management of football, it cannot depend on authorization from the SAF to exercise other sporting or social activities that it may wish to exercise”, completes the document.

Suggestions for changing the statute were compiled among councilors in January this year. Now, three months later, the formal proposal will be delivered to the Deliberative Council for a vote.

After the decision and approval of the new statute, new elections will be defined to choose the Association’s board, which should take place by May, but no date has yet been set. The elections, which would take place in December 2023, were postponed by the Deliberative Council last year.
