The commentator Paulo Cesar Vasconcellos asked the press “dive deep” in the complaints being made by John Textorowner of SAF do Botafogoabout manipulation of results in Brazilian football. In recent days, many journalists have not paid attention to what the American businessman has said and presented.

The party concerned with doing 100% journalism in the press should delve deeply into the story. You should go beyond what Fulano or Beltrano said and investigate. Just focusing on producing memes, ironically, there will be a part of the press that will find this the most interesting… I understand that the other part of the press that is interested in actually doing journalism, in investigating, is a story to delve into – said PC in “SporTV Selection“.

Paulo Cesar Vasconcellos, however, saw an error in John Textor’s strategy and regretted that he had not managed to unite other clubs on such a delicate and important issue.

I understand that Textor could have built bridges with presidents so that this issue can be addressed collectively. The beginning was with a very high tone, with a very accentuated emphasis, and made the construction, the dialogue with the president of Palmeiras and the president of São Paulo, with the president of the CBF unfeasible… The beginning was very untimely, and it is not like that, the tone was completely wrong. I realize he’s toning it down now, but the bridges have already been burned – analyzed.
