One of the biggest tournaments on the world tennis circuit takes place this week. The main draw of the ATP and WTA 1000 in Madrid will be held from April 24th to May 3rd and all games will be shown exclusively on ESPN and Star+ starting this Wednesday.

The competition is among the most prestigious on clay and is seen as an important stop for the world’s best players before Roland Garros. With Bia Haddad, João Fonseca, Thiago Wild, Thiago Monteiro, Luisa Stefani and Ingrid Martins in the Spanish capital for the competition, ESPN will provide special coverage of the tournament with Gustavo Hofman on site providing first-hand information about the event.

Thiago Wild will be the competition’s biggest draw on opening day. The Brazilian faces Russian Roman Safiullin, number 42 in the world, on court number 6 of the complex in the Spanish capital. The match will be the second of the day on the channel’s schedule. The duel between Sara Errani and Caroline Wozniacki will also be shown, the confrontation defines Bia Haddad’s opponent, who received a break in the first round.
