Looking to reduce the weight of the car, the Alpine will bring the first updates to the A524 at the Japanese GP Formula 1. In addition to modifications aimed at reducing weight, the team also seeks to improve the aerodynamic setup.

Alpine boss Bruno Famin revealed that these upgrades were already scheduled.

“While not major, it is important that we add these elements as quickly as possible so that we can assess the potential and continually improve our understanding of our package. These updates mainly concern a new front wing, as well as the first weight reduction step.”, he explained.

A recent advance was that Alpine managed to reach Q2 only in Australian GP, with Esteban Ocon.

“We managed to fight closer to the points than in previous rounds. This is likely due to the circumstances and specifics of the track rather than an improvement in performance. And it’s still a long way from our goal”, acknowledged the head of Alpine.

He admits that the team needs to “fight tooth and nail to improve our performance in all areas”, he added.

For Japan, the team confirmed that it will change the blue livery to the alternative pink color scheme. Both versions use less paint than last year in order to reduce weight.
