Sorocaba announced the signing of central defender Hannah Nunes, 31 years old, this Tuesday. The athlete was world champion for the Brazilian team in 2013, at just 20 years old, at the Handball World Cup in Serbia.

The player played for São Bernardo and São Bernardo, in addition to having two international experiences on her resume with stints in Russian and Spanish handball.

This season, Sorocaba will face disputes in the National League, the Campeonato Paulista, in addition to the Regional Games and Open Games, competitions in which the Sorocaba club is the current three consecutive champion.

The Brazilian handball team was world champion in December 2013, in Serbia. In the final held in the capital Belgrade, Brazil defeated the hosts 22-20 in a packed gym with around 19 thousand people.

Hannah Nunes from Pernambuco scored the 21st Brazilian goal, with just two minutes left in the match.
