Flamengo took to the field in the Libertadores debut with four changes compared to the last games

Flamengo is returning to Rio de Janeiro with a point under its belt. This is because, in their debut in the Copa Libertadores da América, this Tuesday (02), the Rio team only finished 1-1 with Millonarios (COL). After the match played at El Campín, in Bogotá, Tite was asked about the decision to rest some players in the first round of the continental tournament. In response, the coach justified the choice.

— We came with nine players who had some problem. Nine, from the last game until now. We had to do some review, I can’t go in with nine players, some feeling, some more details. Because, and this is the most important detail, we have players and a squad with a lot of quality. When you have a clinical or physical need for a decrease, naturally you have these great players to be able to participate. And then the names that you (journalist) you mentioned -, said Tite.

CHANGES FOR PREMIERE

To face Millonarios, Flamengo took to the field with the following new players: David Luiz, Viña, Igor Jesus and Bruno Henrique. In this way, these four players ‘replaced’ Léo Pereira, Ayrton Lucas, De La Cruz and Luiz Araújo, who had been starters in all of Rubro-Negro’s last games. Of those mentioned, only the Uruguayan midfielder was not available on the bench.

Nicolás de la Cruz traveled to Colombia with the delegation and even trained normally the day before the duel. However, shortly before the ball rolled, Flamengo reported that the number 18 had a fever and had to be removed from the game.

There was already an expectation that the Uruguayan would not start the game, due to the wear and tear he suffered from the sequence of commitments for Flamengo and when he was at the service of the Uruguay National Team, during the FIFA Date. However, due to the problem reported by the club, De La Cruz was not even on the bench.

NEXT GAME AT LIBERTADORES

After the draw, Flamengo returns to the field for the Libertadores only on April 10 (Wednesday), against Palestino (CHI), in the second round of the group stage. Therefore, the ball starts at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã.

BEFORE THAT, HOWEVER…

Before returning to play in the continental competition, Flamengo has an important commitment next Sunday (07). This is because, at Maracanã, Mengão faces the second game of the Carioca Championship final, against Nova Iguaçu.

It’s worth remembering that Tite’s men won the first leg 3-0, meaning they could even lose by two goals to guarantee the state trophy. Furthermore, there is no advantage in the decision, any tie on aggregate takes the dispute to maximum penalties.

As tradition dictates, Coluna do Fla broadcasts the clash live on YouTube. Thus, the most red-hot and red-hot coverage on the internet features narration by the ‘angry’ Rafa Penido, accompanied by comments by Tulio Rodrigues, and reports by Léo José and Vitor Beloti. Finally, Band (open TV), BandSports (closed channel) and Goat (streaming) also show the confrontation.
