Palmeiras closes the first two months of 2024 with a surplus of R$46.8 million

Palmeiras released this Tuesday morning (26) the financial balance sheets for the months of January and February 2024. The numbers indicate a surplus of R$46.839 million in the period, leveraged by the receipt of amounts related to athlete negotiations. Verdão received around R$106.5 million, around R$50 million more than initially projected.

In January, the club’s revenue was R$128.764 million, approximately R$54.88 million more than expected, mainly due to revenue from the sale of players. Thus, due to the jump in revenue generation, the surplus in the period was R$46,631, completely opposite to the R$6.3 million deficit initially projected.

In February, the club’s revenue was R$63.641 million, approximately R$9.10 million more than expected. Palmeiras closed the month with a minimum surplus of R$207 thousand reais, but with a better result compared to what was initially predicted – a deficit of R$10.63 million.

Thus, as in the months in question, in the year to date, the numbers are considerably higher than those budgeted at the beginning of the season – R$46.839 million surplus realized against R$16.940 million budgeted deficit.

The debt with Crefisa, sponsor of the Biggest Champion in Brazil, fell significantly in 2023. In January of last year, the value was around R$69 million. In February 2024, the value is around R$21.4 million.

It is worth remembering that, on a recurring basis, in order to preserve its financial health, Palmeiras tends to budget modest sporting results, so as, in theory, not to run a serious risk in the event of failure in competitions.
