In recent months, CBF has been undergoing important internal changes. After unsuccessful periods with Ramon Menezes and Fernando Diniz, Dorival Júnior took charge of Canarinho. The position of coach of the under-20 team, however, is still vacant.

Because of this, the entity that runs national football continues to analyze the market in search of a reliable name. In this way, a former Internacional coach entered the agenda and could take over the base of the Brazilian team, according to information from the “Uol Esportes” portal.

This is Fábio Matías. Currently at Botafogo, even commanding the main team while the Rio team does not announce a new coach, the professional is seen with good eyes, after all he has done consistent work in the youth categories.

During his time at Internacional, for example, he became champion of the 2020 São Paulo Junior Football Cup. In that edition of the country’s main youth tournament, Fábio Matías led Celeiro de Ases to the title in a final against Grêmio. At the beginning of 2021, he even led the under-23 team in three games in the Campeonato Gaúcho.
