Flamengo went to the field at Maracanã last weekend and met Nova Iguaçu in the first game of the Carioca Championship final. Mais Querido confirmed their favoritism in the match and won 3-0, with two goals from Pedro and an own goal from Ronald.

Despite the large score and Fla’s feeling of tranquility in the game that he indicates, Laranja da Baixada offered several challenges to Rubro-Negro and did not shy away from the reduced investment of his team.

The team led by Carlos Vitor faced Flamengo courageously and offered a very busy clash. The opponent’s stance did not go unnoticed by Tite.

In the post-game press conference, the red-and-black coach highlighted Nova Iguaçu’s stance and stated that Cal may have even been better in the match than himself, as he offered a high-level match with little infrastructure available.

– Carlos (Nova Iguaçu coach) is very congratulated. The quality of Nova Iguaçu is no coincidence, there is a lot of qualified work. Maybe even better than mine, because it doesn’t have all the equipment that Flamengo provides me. And without these conditions, he runs an exemplary campaign. It’s a considerable advantage, but nothing has been decided yet.

Although the Nova Iguaçu team put up a good fight, the 3-0 score for Fla makes the turnaround unlikely for Laranja da Baixada. The final duel between the teams will take place next Sunday (07), at 5pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã.

Flamengo in the Libertadores

The red and black delegation traveled to Colombia to meet Millonarios at altitude for the first round of the Copa Libertadores group stage. The duel is scheduled for this Tuesday (02), at 7pm (Brasília time), at the El Campín stadium, located in the Colombian capital.
