The under 12 men’s basketball team from SEL (Secretariat of Sports and Leisure) made its debut in the LMB (Metropolitan Basketball League) on Saturday, 23. The team led by professor Marcos Gasparino Schmidt faced Valinhos, at the opponent’s home.
It was LMB’s first festival. The Itapirense team debuted playing against the home team and, feeling nervous, were unable to develop their game, closing the score 25 x 11 for the home team. In the second game, better adapted, she managed to improve her concentration and beat Paulínia 13 x 11.
The coach assessed the athletes’ performance for the first festival, considering it was as expected. “The result and this nervousness were expected, but for the next competitions it should be minimized,” said Schmidt.
Augusto, Pedro, Bernardo, Luiz Eduardo, João Roberto, Tales, Arthur Barel, Felipe, Rafael, Caio, Miguel and Arthur Xavier, were part of the team. “They are evolving with each training session and each participation, getting to know what a competition is like, and this only gets better”, highlighted the teacher.
