Daniel Alves’ bail was paid by a group of friends, according to the newspaper

Sentenced to four and a half years in prison for raping a woman in the bathroom of a nightclub in Barcelona, at the end of 2022, player Daniel Alves left prison after almost 14 months. This Monday (25/3), he left the Brian 2 penitentiary center after a group of friends paid bail for one million euros (around R$5.4 million). The information is from the La Vanguardia portal.

Neymar was initially identified as a possible financier of the bail amount. After the repercussions, the player’s father went public to say that he would not get involved with the issue at that time. According to the Tudn channel, in Mexico, Dutchman Memphis Depay, who currently plays for Atlético de Madrid, but was Daniel’s teammate at Barcelona, contributed the amount that allowed the bail to be paid.

Despite having assets estimated at around 60 million euros (around R$324 million), Daniel Alves is unable to operate some accounts due to a legal dispute with his ex-wife, Dinorah Santa.

As a result, a group of the player’s friends took out a loan for the amount established by the Spanish Court so that he could obtain provisional freedom. One of the guarantees used by the lawyers for the transaction to take place was the amount that Daniel Alves has to receive from the Spanish tax authorities, 6.8 million euros (R$36.6 million) in total.

Restrictions imposed by the Court

In addition to paying bail, Daniel Alves will have to comply with a series of demands from the Spanish Court so that he remains on provisional release. Among them is staying at least a thousand meters away from home and work. No contact with the victim will be permitted.

Daniel Alves also had his passports confiscated, to prevent him from leaving the country. The player will still have to present himself to the Barcelona Court whenever requested.
