One extratropical cyclone in formation should intensify instability in Rio Grande do Sul, already punished by floods and flash floods.

The cyclone, although it is not expected to directly cross Rio Grande do Sul, will cause winds that can reach between 60 km/h and 70 km/h in all regions.

From this Wednesday (8), the Inmet forecast storms, wind gusts between 60 and 70 km/h.

The forecast indicates that the temperature will begin to fall on Wednesday (8), at the end of the day, with minimums between 5°C and 11°C in the Center-South of the state.

In the coldest areas, such as the southwest, Planalto and Serra, minimum temperatures can reach 4°C. In Porto Alegre, minimum temperatures should be around 12°C.

The scenario is worrying due to the saturation of the soil and the rivers still full, increasing the risk of new floods and landslides, especially in regions already affected such as Vale do Taquari and Serra.

O governor Eduardo Leite (PSDB) calls for caution and for the population to avoid returning to risk areas.

To date, Rio Grande do Sul has recorded 95 deaths, more than 100 missing people and more than 200,000 displaced people, of which almost 50,000 are in shelters.
