Sidorova mourns the death of Anderson, from Molejo, and remembers the Broom Dance parody | winter Olympics

The death of Anderson Leonardo, from Molejo, left a Russian curling star in mourning. This Saturday, Olympic medalist Anna Sidorova mourned the death of the singer, victim of cancer in the inguinal region at the age of 51. She recalled the Broom Dance parody in which she was honored by Anderson during the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014.

– My sincere condolences to all my Brazilian fans. Singer Anderson Leonardo, lead singer of the group Molejo, died on Friday, in Rio de Janeiro. It is a great honor for me to be Molejo’s muse. Rest in peace, Anderson Leonardo – Sidorova posted on her social networks.

In 2014, with the help of Marcelo Mello, a member of the Brazilian team and, at that time, a sportv commentator, Molejo had his first contact with the stones and brooms typical of curling, which uses the sweeping of the ice to create less friction so that the granite stone slide further. Anderson, Jimmy Batera, Robson Calazans, Marquinhos Pato, Lúcio Nascimento and Claumirzinho showed their curling skills in the clip.

“Tell me where you’re going, and I’ll sweep you away”, Anderson sang in Dança da Broom, a hit by Molejo in 1998, the same year that curling debuted at the Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. In 2014, then, at the invitation of ge, Anderson and their bandmates were also sweeping the curling rink while performing a parody with lyrics created by Thales Ramos and Thiago Dias, from the ge team: “Look where the stone goes, I’ll sweep it away”.

The new version chose Russian athlete Anna Sidorova as the muse of the sport and decreed: “Hey Sidorova, I’m your fan. I’ll meet you in Russia tomorrow”. In a report, Anderson also held a photo of Sidorova, and declared: “Look, guys, this is Sido, Molejão’s suitor. Hey, ninina beautiful!” The joke reached Sidorova, who reacted with good humor and shared it on her social networks, writing, in English: “These guys made my day.” Later, in an interview with Globo, she also commented:

– When I first saw the video, I couldn’t believe it was about me. I showed it to my team and they are always singing – said the Russian, who, upon receiving photos from Anderson, commented: – These photos are full of emotion. I like people who, like in Brazil or Russia, show their feelings.

It was so successful that Molejo even sang the curling version of the Broom Dance in some shows and even inspired Carnival costumes, which in 2014 took place days after the end of the Socchi Winter Olympics.

Anderson, at the time, still showed that he was on top of the subject by mentioning his support for Brazilian snowboarder Isabel Clark and his admiration for bobsled events.

– I really like snowboarding, where we have a Brazilian woman who represents us very well, and I also really like that thing that I don’t know the name of, where guys run around pushing and then ride one, ride another, plec, plec… That’s it, bobsled – he joked.

And he smiled his trademark smile.
