Journalist Fernanda Chaves, who worked as an advisor to councilor Marielle Franco (Psol) and was in the same car that was machine-gunned on the night of March 14, 2018, He was also one of the targets of those who ordered the crime.

According to the complaint, those who ordered the journalist also wanted the journalist’s death. For researchers, Fernanda only didn’t die because Marielle’s body ended up protecting her from the shots.

The three named in the complaint have been arrested since the end of March. TV Globo found that the piece was delivered last Tuesday (7) to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF).

The complaint signed by the Deputy Attorney General of the Republic, Hindenburgo Chateaubriand Filho, points to the Brazão brothers as those behind the murder and for being part of a criminal organization. Police chief Rivaldo Barbosa was also denounced as having ordered the murder.

According to the complaint, the confession of the confessed killer, Ronnie Lessa, makes perfect sense to implicate the Brazão brothers in order to kill Marielle and Anderson.

The PGR understood that through the intermediaries who participated in the crime, due to the circumstances, plus the collaborator’s narrative, Lessa met with the Brazão brothers. The organization also states that the former PM received a promise of payment from his brothers for the murder of the councilwoman.

The PGR’s complaint considers evidence arising from vehicle movement data, telephone monitoring and triangulation of telephone signals, in addition to interviews with dozens of witnesses.

Marielle case: two more suspects are arrested for participating in the crime

For the PGR, all this documentary investigative analysis plus the political history of the Brazão brothers gives the conviction for the criminal accusation against the Brazão brothers and police chief Rivaldo.

The complaint delves into the brothers’ economic land interests, their relations with the militias and friction with political opponents such as councilwoman Marielle and her party, Psol.

The context of Marielle’s execution was, according to the PGR, 100% part of the obsession with real estate exploitation in areas dominated by the militia. Areas in which the Brazão brothers made their name and strengthened themselves politically and financially, according to the conclusion of the PGR.

Domingos Brazão’s defense was informed by the press about the filing of a complaint related to the murder of Marielle Franco and Anderson Gomes. The constituted defense has not yet had access to the accusation or to the collaborations, however, judging by the news, the accusatory narrative is an implausible hypothesis, which is based only on the narrative of the confessed murderer, without presenting evidence to support the murderer’s version.

The defense of Federal Deputy Chiquinho Brazão clarifies that he has not yet had access to the Complaint made by the PGR, nor does he yet know the terms of the allegations cited in the PF report. Therefore, it is not yet possible to make a value judgment on the accusations.

Lawyers Marcelo Ferreira and Felipe Dalleprane stated that this type of procedure caused surprise to the defense because, according to the news, the complaint would have been presented on the 7th, but we went to the STF on the 8th, to file a request to revoke Rivaldo’s preventive detention. Barbosa, and there was no information in the files about the protocol of any PGR piece. Rivaldo Barbosa’s defense also stated that it is strange that none of those under investigation were heard before the PGR’s complaint, in complete affront to the STF’s judicial determination, to hear from those under investigation immediately after their arrest. Above all because, after a careful analysis of the final report of the investigation, made available by the Federal Supreme Court, it is clear that the Federal Police itself stated the total absence of elements that corroborated the words of confessed criminal and whistleblower Ronnie Lessa, regarding the participation of his client desk.

Therefore, the conduct of the Attorney General’s Office in filing a complaint and requesting arrest is highly surprising, given the short period between the end of the long-running investigation (which concluded that there was no evidence against Ronald) and the complaint.

It should be noted that, as soon as there is more information about the reasons that led to such an unusual situation, since this office has not yet had access to the content of the process, the defense will bring to society the evidence that refutes such unfounded accusations.
