7 centimeters left for the Umari reservoir to bleed

One of the largest reservoirs in Rio Grande do Norte, Umari, located in Upanema, in the western region of the state, is seven centimeters away from bleeding. The data comes from a survey by the State Water Management Institute (Igarn), released this Wednesday (8). The Armando Ribeiro Gonçalves and Santa Cruz do Apodi reservoirs surpass volume levels that they have not reached since 2012.

The third largest dam in RN reached 99.28% of the total volume. In the last update, the reservoir reached 290,701,910 m³ of the total capacity of 292,813,650 m³. The last time Umari bled was on April 9 last year, according to Igarn.

The Armando Ribeiro Gonçalves reservoir, the largest water reserve in the State, reached 80.98% of total volume. The mark has not been reached since 2012. Of the total capacity of 2,373,066,000 m³, 1,921,668,470 m³ are filled.

And the second largest reservoir in Rio Grande do Norte, Santa Cruz do Apodi, in Apodi, reached the mark of 80.32% of the total volume. Just like Armando Ribeiro Gonçalves, the mark has not been reached since 2012. Of the reserve’s capacity of 599,712,000 m³, 481,677,550 m³ are filled.
