The adjustment of 51.9% of the food voucher agreed on Thursday (April 25, 2024) between the president’s government Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and entities representing federal public employees will cost R$2.3 billion per year, according to estimates from the Power360. • daycare voucher: R$93.5 million monthly and R$1.1 billion annually.

The numbers could be even higher considering the CNU (Unified National Competition), which will be held on May 5th. It is planned to hire 7,000 new civil servants.

Wanted by Power360, the Ministry of Management and Innovation reported in a statement that this year’s budget law set aside around R$1 billion for the adjustment. The value, according to the agency, was agreed in the National Permanent Negotiation Table.

“The real impact depends on the use of benefit servers such as health benefits and daycare benefits”he said in a note.
