The small town of Peixoto de Azevedo, in Mato Grosso, almost 700km from Cuiabá, is shocked by a horrendous crime committed by a 48-year-old woman and her 28-year-old son, who is a doctor at the UPA (Emergency Care Unit) of the Municipality, which took place on Sunday (21). Ines Gemilaki and Bruno Gemilaki Dal Poz broke into a residence and fired several shots indiscriminately at people who were there, killing two elderly people, Pilson Pereira da Silva, 80 years old, and Rui Luiz Bolgo, 68. According to the Mato Grosso Civil Police, Ines is a cattle rancher and rented a property from a man who is the owner and resident of the house where the crime occurred. Because of this rented place, the woman would have left debts for the owner, when a disagreement would have started between them. Hours before the macabre episode, she went to a police station and filed a police report for threats against the subject.

“The suspect rented the property from the owner and, when leaving, left some debts, which led to legal action. From then on, there were several discussions and disagreements between them, which resulted in this barbaric crime”, reported the delegate responsible for the investigation, Anna Paula Marien.

Images recorded by the property’s security cameras, internal and external, show mother and son arriving at the house armed, she with a revolver and the young doctor with a 12-gauge shotgun. The boy remains outside shooting, while she enters the residence , has access to the point where people are gathered, and starts shooting randomly, killing two victims and injuring the Catholic cleric.

The man who was the target of the action was not hit and according to authorities he had some minor injuries and abrasions caused by fragments of glass that broke with the shots. Ines’ husband, who is Bruno’s stepfather, identified as Márcio Ferreira Gonçalves, is also wanted by the police, as he allegedly covered the killers and helped them escape the scene. Mother and son are on the run.

A Mato Grosso news portal also reported that Ines and her son Bruno left the crime scene and then entered a local grocery store, where surveillance cameras recorded them buying beer and sending messages on their cell phones.
