Desenrola Program: government extends until May 20

-

For the second time, the government plans to extend the Desenrola Brasil Program, a debt renegotiation initiative for defaulting individuals. As announced by the press office of the Ministry of Finance, the provisional measure that includes the extension of the program is scheduled to be published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Thursday (28).

Initially, the renegotiations were supposed to end in December, but were extended until March 31st. The increase in demand after the integration of Desenrola with bank applications, Serasa Limpa Nome and Caixa Tem justified the extension. Since the beginning of the month, Desenrola debts can also be renegotiated at Post Office branches.

The extension applies exclusively to Track 1 of Desenrola, aimed at people with an income of up to two minimum wages or registered in the Federal Government’s Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico) and with debts of up to R$20,000. Renegotiations for this category began in October.

Unroll Program

Since the beginning of the year, the government has simplified membership of Desenrola. At the end of January, users with a bronze profile on the Gov.br Portal began to have the option of paying their debts in installments. Previously, those who had this level of account, with less security, were only able to pay the negotiated amount in cash. With this change, the number of users with bronze level login increased from 19% to 40% of daily trades.

The government also integrated the Desenrola platform with the service systems of financial institutions and companies such as Serasa and Correios. This integration was made possible by Ordinance 124 of the Ministry of Finance, issued on January 29, which allowed partnerships to expand the reach of the program.

More than 700 companies are involved in the effort, including banks, finance companies, retailers, telephone operators, public service concessionaires and securitization companies. In total, more than 550 million offers are available at MegaFeirão, in addition to discounts of up to 96% from the Desenrola Program.

The program

Since February 15th, Desenrola Brasil can also be accessed through the Serasa Limpa Nome website. With the integration between the platforms, users logged in to the Serasa platform are redirected to www.desenrola.gov.br, where they can check their debts and make payments under the program conditions, without the need to log in again.

According to the most recent data from the Ministry of Finance, Desenrola Brasil has already benefited around 14 million people, who renegotiated R$50 billion in debts in Tracks 1 and 2. Average discounts on the program’s platform are 83%, which can reach 96% in some cases, with the option to pay in cash or in installments without a down payment, and with a period of up to 60 months to pay off.

Active between July and December last year, Track 2 allowed the renegotiation of debts of any amount with banks and other financial institutions for individuals with income of up to R$20,000. Unlike Track 1, renegotiations were not carried out through the Desenrola platform, but rather through the banks’ service channels.
