After Stellantis and Volkswagen, other automakers began investing in flex hybrids. Even Chevrolet, which was betting on electric vehicles, changed its plans and will also have this technology – although it has not yet made an official announcement about it.

But, after all, when will we have a new flex hybrid in Brazil? For now, Honda is the only one that has already announced a launch date. The new WR-V hits the market in the second half of 2025. Made in Itirapina (SP), it will be the brand’s first product with this system.
But the possibility of some automaker promoting the debut of this feature a little earlier is not ruled out. One of them is Renault. The brand’s mid-size SUV is expected to build on the RGMP platform, the same as the Kardian, in 2025.
The model, which will arrive with the mission of competing with the Compass, will be the first flex hybrid product from the French automaker.
But Toyota itself may take the lead and launch its third flex hybrid product before rivals are able to promote the debut of their first ones. The new Yaris Cross SUV will feature this system.
The model, which is expected to compete with the T-Cross, Tracker and Creta, among others, was scheduled to arrive in 2024, but production was delayed. Now, it will be until 2025.
