Maria Solangea former homeless person and drug user who went viral after publishing a video dancing to a song by Madonnayou may be close to realizing your dream of meeting the singer during the queen of pop’s show in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, in May.
Second spoilers released this Thursday (25), Maria Solange was invited by Banco Itaúsponsor of Madonna’s concert in Rio, to be in the company space during the presentation. “Today I’m here at Estúdio Itaú, where I’m making a recording with this wonderful team. I’m counting on you at Madonna’s show,” she said in a video.
Maria Solange went viral in 2020 when she published a video dancing “Holiday” after receiving the sad news that her 22-year-old son had been murdered. At the time, she was a drug user and suffered from chemical dependency, as did her son.
“I’m going to dance for my son”she said in the video that reached Madonna, who shared it with the caption: “Are you feeling hopeless today? Life seems to be one bad news after another? The apocalypse seems to be close? I think many of us feel the same way. On days like these, we just have to turn up the music and dance.”
After going viral, Maria Solange was recognized by her family, went into rehabilitation process with the help of the NGO Parceiros Brilhantes and, after 32 years, she managed to get sober and resume her life. “Like it or not, after God, Madonna is responsible, yes, for my happiness, for my transformation”she declared in an interview with UOL.
Today, Maria Solange lives in Guarulhos (SP), studies to complete her medical degree and works in a male products factory. She has also traveled to Italy, Portugal and Spain with the help of five supporters.
“I want my story to reach the ears of people who need to hear this testimony, that it is possible, that when you want to quit an addiction, whatever it may be, you just have to want it. […] See my before and after, so you can look in the mirror, reflect and say: ‘If she can do it, I can do it, if she can do it, I can do it too'”, he added.

On May 4th, Madonna arrives in Rio de Janeiro for a free show on Copacabana Beach, which is expected to attract an audience of 500,000 people. The presentation is sponsored by Banco Itaú and will be part of the “Celebration Tour”, a tour that celebrates the artist’s 40 years of success.
