About to release Dark Matter, Pearl Jam’s 12th studio album, Eddie Vedder also reflected on friends he lost in recent years
Iconic vocalist and one of the guitarists of Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder revealed how the legendary American rock band still has “one or two” good studio albums to be released.
During an interview with MOJO Magazinethe artist commented on the group’s 12th studio album, titled Dark Matterwhich has a release date scheduled for April 19, 2024, in just over two weeks.

“The older you get, the better you live in the present. The understanding that you have less time is the biggest number in the quotient. The goal is to continue making music,” he stated. Then he talked about the artist friends he’s lost in recent years, like Chris Cornell, Mark Lanegan It is Layne Stanley.
“[Nesta fase] you lean on your relationships with the people who are still around. You really realize when you’re in a situation where that person would be there,” he said. “And you’re sad for them because they’re not.”
But it makes you realize that you need to be healthy. You want to be close to your children. You want to make good records. And we might have one or two left.
