After beating Fluminense and breathing a little easier in the season, the Corinthians squad performed again at CT Joaquim Grava on Monday afternoon. The day was marked by the beginning of preparation for the duel against América, from Rio Grande do Norte, valid for the third phase of the Copa do Brasil.
Following the standard established by the club, the players who played for more than 45 minutes in last Sunday’s triumph did not go to the pitch. This group only carried out regenerative work inside the training center.
The others carried out physical activations, both in the gym and on the field, and then started working with the ball. António Oliveira led an activity of marking pressure and passes in reduced space.
It is worth remembering that António Oliveira has a concern for the match against América. The Portuguese will have to form Corinthians without the presence of Rodrigo Garro, as the Argentine is suspended after receiving a red card against São Bernardo.
The natural replacement for number 10 would be Igor Coronado. The player, however, was absent from the last game due to pain in his right hip and his injury status was not updated by the club this Monday.
Another absence will be that of Pedro Henrique, substituted in the first minutes of the victory against Fluminense. Receiving an opportunity as a starter, the attacker ended up suffering an injury to the hamstring of his left thigh.
Corinthians and América face each other next Wednesday, May 1st, at 8pm. The ball rolls at Arena das Dunas. This Tuesday, the squad carries out the last training session before the clash and then leaves for Natal, capital of Rio Grande do Norte.
