The story of one of the most famous communicators in Brazil will be turned into a film and will tell the story of businessman Sílvio Santos, responsible for making a career in the Brazilian Television System (SBT). Presenter and actor Rodrigo Faro will play the protagonist.

This Tuesday (02), the production company Imagem Filmes released the first poster of the film and the first teaser with images from the film, which show Faro characterized as Sílvio Santos. In the video, the character appears preparing a coffee and talking briefly with a man called Manuel, who does not appear in the images. It is believed that he is Manuel de Nóbrega, father of presenter Carlos Alberto de Nóbrega, from the program ‘A Praça é Nossa’. Sílvio and Manuel met when they were on the radio and had a friendship that lasted many years.

The expectation is that the film will tell the story of Sílvio’s life, events never shown, his rise in communication and more intimate details of the family, including the kidnapping of the presenter that marked Brazil.

In August 2001, Sílvio’s house was invaded and his daughter, Patrícia Abravanel, was kidnapped. The young woman was only released a week later, upon payment of a ransom of R$500,000. Two people were arrested less than 24 hours later. However, one of those involved managed to escape and broke into the presenter’s residence again, holding Sílvio hostage for around eight hours. The businessman was only released through negotiations in the presence of the then governor of São Paulo, Geraldo Alckmin.

The film is directed by Marcelo Antunez and features a cast made up of Johnnas Oliva, VInícius Ricci, Felippe Castro, Marjorie Gerardi, Eduardo Reyes, Bruna Aiiso, Duda Mamberti, Lara Córdulla, Adriana Londoño, Polliana Aleixo and Paulo Gorgulho.
