An exciting science fiction series that unfortunately had a very bad fate.
Imagine immersing yourself in a fascinating science fiction world over the course of several years. You meet different characters and delve into their feelings and conflicts and then the end of the story is simply not told. Many fans of the adaptation of the Divergent literary saga had this frustrating experience. Today, on Prime Video, you can find the second part of the franchise: Insurgent.
Divergent should have gotten two more films
The story takes us to a dystopian version of Chicago, where people have split into different factions and now live in the ancient metropolis, which is surrounded by a huge protective wall.
Great dangers lurk outside the mighty wall. This is what was taught to Tris (Shailene Woodley), 16, since she was a child. But what worries them even more as young people is the ceremony in which they choose a faction to follow.
The Divergent series by writer Veronica Roth consists of three volumes, which were initially turned into very successful films. Lionsgate wanted to capitalize on the success over a longer period of time and decided to split the final volume into two – however, only one of them was released.

In similar film series like Harry Potter, Twilight, and The Hunger Games, splitting the ending worked. The Divergent series did not have the same result thanks to the disappointing numbers of the third part.
The sad thing is: Divergent died more times after that. There were plans to end the science fiction saga in series form. Ultimately, however, all rescue attempts failed.
