A pair of men were arrested, identified as participants in a bank robbery that took place in Santa Maria do Pará, northeast of Pará. During the crime, the employees had explosives strapped to their bodies.
To locate the suspects, the Civil Police of Pará (PC) launched operation ‘Saturno’, through the Bank Robbery Repression and Anti-Kidnapping Police Station (DRRBA), in partnership with several police units from other states.

This is because one man was found in Teresina (PI) and another in Frutal, a city in Minas Gerais. The police action took place on the fourth, fifth and sixth of May.
The crime occurred on February 15, 2023. Investigations showed that the criminals captured the manager and treasurer of the bank branch and forced the victims to take money from the bank with explosives tied to their bodies.
According to the police, the two suspects must answer for the crime of extortion through kidnapping. In addition to Piauí and Minas Gerais, the operation also carried out search and seizure warrants in Maranhão and Ceará.
