“I have several uncles, cousins in Rio Grande do Sul. Two sets of uncles were most affected, they were left without water, without electricity. We are helping by sending Pix, sending supplies to the collection points to be sent to Rio Grande do Sul. We are going to do even more to help, everything is very complicated”, highlighted Vanderlei Luiz Giongo, a merchant from Rio Grande do Sul in Varginha.

Due to the floods, Rio Grande do Sul records more than 455 thousand points without electricity, according to the concessionaires responsible for the service in the state. This has made it difficult for families who live far away to get in touch.

“I have relatives who lost everything, I have relatives who left home and we are in contact with them, asking what they need. We are running a campaign to send them there”, said Adriana Perondi Thiago Ferreira, a trader from Rio Grande do Sul in Três Corações.

Adriana reveals a message received by one of her relatives. In audio, the relative told her that a friend asked him for a bottle of water.

“Is very sad. Today a colleague of mine from Porto Alegre, he told me if I was going to go down to Porto Alegre, he asked me to bring him a bottle of water. He’s not drinking water. He’s a lot of people, right?” said Ivan Bertoni, Adriana’s relative, in an audio sent to her.

Also from Rio Grande do Sul, Muzambinho judge Flávio Schimidt spoke about campaigns carried out in the city and also highlighted funding from the Minas Gerais Court of Justice that will be allocated to Rio Grande do Sul.

“We are promoting fundraising in Muzambinho to send materials to Rio Grande do Sul and the Court of Justice ended up making a donation of R$ 10 million to the Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul. We hope that normality can return as quickly as possible” , said the judge.
