In Acre, elderly man reacts to robbery, takes knife and stabs criminal – ac24horas.com

Taylon Mendes de Souza, 20 years old, was injured with several stab wounds to the chest on the morning of this Tuesday, 7th, after trying to rob a 76-year-old man, on Rua Euclides da Cunha, located in the Esperança neighborhood, in Rio Branco.

According to police information, the elderly man had just received his salary and, while walking down the street, he was approached by the criminal who wanted to rob him.

The victim reacted to the assault and got into a physical fight with the criminal, who pulled out a knife. After the assailant fell to the ground, the elderly man managed to grab the knife and struck several blows that hit Taylon’s chest. The elderly man then left the place.

People saw Taylon bleeding on the street and very angry, swearing at people, throwing stones at houses and making obscene gestures.

The Military Police and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) were called. The paramedics provided first care, stabilized Taylon and took him under police custody to the Rio Branco Emergency Room in a serious condition. According to the SAMU doctor, Taylon probably punctured his lung.

When Taylon was admitted to the hospital, he was very agitated in the trauma room, offending the staff and getting up from the stretcher, making it impossible for the professionals to help him.

Military Police from the 1st Battalion collected the elderly man’s characteristics and managed to find him. The victim reported that he was walking on the street, when the criminal began to curse him and approached him to steal and that during a physical struggle, he managed to take the knife and struck him. The elderly man was taken to the Flagrantes Police Station (DEFLA) to register the incident report and provide clarifications to the police officer.

After receiving medical discharge, the accused will be taken to the police station for appropriate procedures. The case will initially be investigated by civil police officers from the Ready Employment Team (EPE) and will subsequently be made available to the Specialized Police Station.
