Professionals from all socio-educational centers in the State of Ceará met for two days (3 and 6 May) at the Seminar “Travessia – the importance of the PIA (Individual Assistance Plan) in Socio-education”, organized by the System Monitoring and Inspection Group Prison and Execution of Socio-educational Measures (GMF). The opening of the event took place in the auditorium of the Escola Superior da Magistratura do Estado do Ceará (Esmec), with the panel “The Importance of PIA for the Effectiveness of Socioeducation”, with the participation, remotely, of judge Francisco Eduardo Scorsafava, supervisor of the GMF/TJCE, and the assistant judge of the Presidency of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), Dr. Edinaldo César Santos Júnior.

Seas superintendent, Roberto Bassan, praised the organizers for the event’s initiative, recognizing the work of the justice system and the partnership with the socio-educational system. Furthermore, the first day featured the participation of the psychology professor from Rio Grande do Norte, Ilana Lemos Paiva, who addressed the panel’s theme and answered the participants’ questions.

On the second and last day of the Seminar, workshops were held exclusively for directors, technical staff and other professionals from the 19 socio-educational units in the State. The focus of this day was the preparation of the PIA and included the participation of Dr. Ilana Lemos and professors Francimara Carneiro and Ingrid Lorena da Silva Leite.

This meeting was a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences between professionals involved in socio-education, always aiming to improve practices and ensure better care for young people in compliance with socio-educational measures. “The PIA is, in addition to an instrument, a planning that involves the future perspectives, of the adolescent’s life project, being a fundamental piece for the execution of socio-educational measures aimed at the process of accountability and social integration of that adolescent”, highlights Ingrid Lorena.
