The services of the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Inmetro) are temporarily offline, due to the heavy rains that hit Rio Grande do Sul, also compromising the services of the Institute of Metrology of the State of Piauí (Imepi).

The systems that serve Inmetro’s Brazilian Legal Metrology and Quality Network (RBMLQ-I), located at the Inmetro Superintendence in Rio Grande do Sul (SURRS) and comprise the following systems: the Integrated Management System (SGI); the Inmetro Service Portal in the States (PSIE); the Chronotachograph system, have been temporarily switched off, since the afternoon of Saturday, May 4th.

Electricity in the region is unstable and the generator maintenance company was also affected by the floods and is out of operation. The expected resumption of operation is subject to the local weather situation.

Senador Petrônio Portela Airport, in Teresina, is running a campaign to collect donations of non-perishable food and hygiene materials for victims of the rains. Donations can also be made through Pix, from the Government of Rio Grande do Sul, through Banrisul: 92.958.800/0001-38.
