GDF will donate five thousand sheets to Rio Grande do Sul

-

The Government of the Federal District (GDF) will send five thousand sheets to help the thousands of families left homeless in Rio Grande do Sul as a result of the tragedy caused by the rains in the State. The action is part of the Brasília for the South campaign, an initiative that brings together efforts from the entire local government to help victims in the affected regions.

The pieces were manufactured by students from the Fábrica Social project, from the Secretariat of Economic Development, Labor and Income (Sedet), and would be destined for the Secretariat of Health. Given the urgency, they will receive a new destination and other materials will be made to supply the units of local health.

“These five thousand pieces are ready to be sent directly to Rio Grande do Sul. The sheets are manufactured by our students in the educational training process, they are people from needy communities in the DF registered in the Single Registry (CadÚnico), and now we are going to help Rio Grande do Sul”, highlights the Secretary of Economic Development, Labor and Income (Sedet), Thales Mendes.

Brasilia in the South

On Friday (3), the GDF sent a humanitarian mission, made up of soldiers from the Fire Department and Civil Defense agents to rescue people and domestic animals. They will continue in the Rio Grande do Sul region until May 16th, initially, subject to changes.

New shipments will be made in the next few days. The Federal District Revenue Service, for example, is collecting seized goods, such as clothing, utensils, hygiene items, food and electronics.
